Texas Summer Running Tips

Runners finish the Jalapeno Half

A few months back, I had the crazy idea of signing up for the “World’s Toughest Half” challenge by Mellew Productions. It calls for running three half marathons in the heat of the Texas summer.

So far I’ve completed the first race, the Jalapeno Half in Fort Worth. I’ve signed up for the Wildfire Half in Denton this weekend but have grave misgivings already.

In addition to training, I’ve been blogging about tips for running in the Texas heat as part of a class project. You can find a roundup of my previous posts here.

Now that I’ve had some practice, I’ll try to keep this updated through the summer, providing tips on summer running in Texas.
